Description

The Philodendron Joepii is a rare green houseplant. These plants are still small, with long green leaves. As the plant matures, it will get a distinct sword-like shape. The leaf divides into three lobes, with a long broad tip.

The Philodendron Joepii was discovered in French Guinea by the Dutch botanist Joep Moonen. This plant also owes its name to him. During his discovery, he thought that the plant had been eaten by insects. After an intensive search, he was able to find one more plant, which turned out to have the same unusual shape. In nature, this tropical plant is almost extinct, but thanks to breeders, this species is now more available.

The Philodendron needs a humidity of above 50%. This plant grows best if it receives a dash of plant food once a month (in spring and summer). You will see the leaves increase in size quickly. Provide this houseplant with lots of indirect light. With enough light, the leaves will quickly adopt the well-known three division. Keep the soil slightly moist. The soil is allowed to dry out slightly in winter between waterings.
