The Ceropegia Woodii Variegata is a popular hanging plant and is also called string of hearts. The heart-shaped leaves have a light gray color with a white edge. They can even turn more pink when the plant gets enough sun!
The Ceropegia Woodii is native to eastern South Africa and Zimbabwe. Here the plant grows in dry areas in trees or along rocks. This plant can flower and has lantern-shaped flowers, hence the nickname Chinese Lantern Plant! This plant is often kept as a hanging plant, but you can also have it wrapped around a plant support, for example. You see this variegated one less often than the ‘normal’ version and is therefore extra special!
Although many plants with variegation are difficult to care for, the Ceropegia Woodii Variegata is not that difficult! That is why this is also a nice special plant for beginners. This plant grows very fast in a spot in full sun! Just make sure he gets used to his new place with so much light slowly, otherwise the leaves will dry out. This plant can be watered weekly, but be careful not to over-water. The soil is allowed to dry out between waterings. In summer, the plant needs more water than in winter.
