Description
The Alocasia Watsoniana is a special plant with beautiful silver veins. Its leaves can be several meters long! Because of these large leaves, the Alocasia is also called ‘elephant ear’. With this elephant ear you get the real jungle feeling at home. This plant has only recently become available for the Dutch market.
The Alocasia Watsoniana originates from the tropical jungles of Southeast Asia and is therefore used to a lot of sunlight. Humidity is high in the jungle, which you can simulate at home by placing the plant on a dish of water. The Alocasia is a bit of a diva anyway and requires some extra love. Make sure you regularly check whether he is getting enough water and light. Of course you get a beautiful eye-catcher of a plant in return!
The Alocasia Watsoniana can exude moisture through the leaves. That can drip and leave stains. The elephant’s ear prefers a light spot with a lot of (indirect) sunlight. He also likes to be warm, but be careful with a place close to the heating. The Alocasia likes a moist potting soil, but absolutely not with its roots in the water.
